Solar energy feasibility study and green roof assessment for the Hyatt Regency Cairo West — maximising renewable energy use and achieving green certification at Pyramids Heights Business Park.
Hyatt Regency Cairo West is situated within the well-established Pyramids Heights Business Park. The developer wanted to maximise the use of solar power to reduce the hotel's carbon emissions and provide a green roof to support wildlife, plants and species.
CDI delivered a solar energy feasibility study alongside green roof and green certification feasibility. We investigated the potential for installing solar energy technologies to reduce energy expenditure and greenhouse gas emissions, assessing financial and environmental benefits of viable systems and finding the best combination of PV and solar thermal installations to suit hotel operations.
We supported the development team with the procurement and implementation process, producing tender documentation, reviewing contractor proposals and advising the client on the best offer.
