A new Passive House in Virginia Water with basement pool, spa and lounge — featuring a multi-source integrated system combining geothermal heat pump, solar PV, solar thermal and gas boiler.
The project is a new dwelling house in Virginia Water, Surrey, featuring a large basement area with a swimming pool, spa and lounge areas, and a staff apartment. The main plant room is hidden below the landscaped garden.
The client's aim was to achieve a low energy consumption building (Passive House) using a multi-source integrated system controlled by BMS. The range of sources includes a Geothermal Heat Pump, Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal and Gas Boiler. Heating and cooling is delivered by a MVHR system with integrated Air Quality and Filtration Management control, adjustable individually in each zone.
The house was designed and built to be fully airtight with an ICF wall system and triple glazing for enhanced U-values.
