A landmark residential development in Woolwich — two 14-storey towers of high-specification apartments achieving an Excellent Eco Homes rating through innovative renewable energy strategy.
CD International provided Public Health and Electrical services design for the Mast Quay residential development in Woolwich, South East London. The first phase comprised two 14-storey towers of high-specification apartments coupled with a 3-storey affordable housing block. The second phase is a mixed-use development of two residential towers alongside approximately 730 sqm of commercial space.
The development falls under the Greater London Authority's initiative for renewable energy, and our team considered renewable energy implementation from the earliest design stage — developing a realistic strategy for technology inclusion throughout. To achieve the required reduction in carbon emissions, a ground source heat pump was proposed to provide heating for part of the development. The development achieved an Excellent Eco Homes rating.
