A luxury private island development of 13 residential suites across six buildings on Moskito Island — featuring pools, bars, outdoor areas and a central communal living space.
Moskito Island is a private island development in the British Virgin Islands comprising 13 residential suites presented across three levels — lower ground, upper ground and first floor — split across six buildings. All buildings are serviced with pools, bars, outdoor seating and stage areas, and a central communal living space. A further building provides accommodation for live-in staff and houses the central MEPH plant that services all buildings, garage areas and a leisure space.
Gas to the development is provided via a client-owned LPG infrastructure. Due to the gradient of the plot, foul drainage from all buildings was designed to discharge directly to grinder pump stations. The development was designed to utilise a range of renewable sources including Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal systems and Air Source Heat Pumps. Heating and cooling within all buildings is delivered by concealed fan coil units.
CDI's duties included load assessments for the development as a whole, full performance-related duties to produce MEPH employer's requirements documents, and fully co-ordinated suites of drawings using 3D modelling software. CDI also provides a watching brief to ensure MEPH contractor proposals and installations comply with employer's requirements.
