Our Edinburgh office undertook design for this retail and entertainment centre in Leith, Scotland, together with the overall master planning of infrastructure for the area development plan. The scheme was developed on a brownfield former dockyard site.
The retail centre is a three-level linear mall providing a GLA of 48,000 sqm, with restaurants, cinema and entertainment centre at third floor level, and a high-quality multi-level food court.
The mall is heated and ventilated using a highly efficient displacement ventilation scheme which utilises a high degree of free cooling and requires lower air volumes and velocities. CDI has been working with Ocean Terminal for over 12 years and has been involved in a £10M upgrade of the shopping centre.
