Refurbishment of the second oldest residence in the UK — ground source bores for heating and cooling, new great hall with basement pool, carefully coordinated to minimise impact on the historic fabric.
The second oldest residence in the UK is to be refurbished to provide 4,000 sqm of accommodation. Due to the historic sensitivity of the building and its surroundings, ground-sourced bores are used to provide the heating and cooling to the main property.
A new great hall is to be constructed with a basement swimming pool. The main ventilation plant has been carefully coordinated to minimise plantroom space and noise from equipment.
