The Cabot St Lucia development is a purpose-built, privately operated golf course and holiday resort currently under construction in Saint Lucia. When completed it will consist of 315 building lots spread across 96,750 sqm, encompassing a wide variety of buildings including private villas, bars, clubhouses, comfort stations, communal pools and spas, and a fitness centre. The development is served via a site-wide electrical, water and drainage infrastructure.
CD International was involved in the design of a number of different lot types which could be employed as templates across the remaining lots. Each lot predominantly utilises Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) to provide heating and cooling, fed into buildings via concealed Fan Coil Units and into domestic water heating and pool heating via buffer vessels. All gas is provided via small cylinder storage. Residential lots contain Solar PV and solar thermal water heating. All buildings are designed to be served via standby backup generators with integrated battery back-up in the event of mains failure.
The bars and restaurants required fully compliant kitchen ventilation systems with odour control — a demanding specification given the high-quality requirements and compact building footprints.
