Tirana East Gate is the first and largest modern shopping centre in Albania, situated 4km from the capital Tirana. Developed, built and run by BALFIN Group with a GLA of 50,000 sqm, this multi-use development contains shops, restaurants, entertainment venues including a cinema complex and fitness facility.
CD International's engineers provided Detailed Design for building services along with a renewable energy study and evaluation of sustainable energy investments. Solar-powered domestic water heating and photovoltaic panels to generate electricity were implemented as part of the design.
Mall ventilation is provided via a mixing ventilation system incorporating heat recovery. Energy metering was implemented alongside a BMS system, allowing the centre management team to monitor consumption and save energy effectively.
